Monties Drummies

What a privilege it was to be asked to be involved in this event. It was an early morning rise at 5am, meeting at school at 6am.  We travelled in convoy to our “vibe points” for the day, cnr. Marine Drive & Neptune Street in Paarden Eiland and the Cape Town Harbour.

We had to be stationed by 7am to avoid the road closures so we were privileged to watch the beautiful sunrise and experience a chilly Cape Town morning. The girls warmed themselves up by playing music and dancing around until they had to be ready to entertain the runners at 9am.

And entertain they sure did! Both the girls and the runners loved the interaction with each other and the morning was filled with loads of fun.  Taking selfies with the runners was a definite highlight, as well as the runners taking over their pompoms, cheering with the girls.

Fairmont can be proud of their Drummies and the good name they have out there!

Well done Drummies (and Parents) on a great morning of entertain.

The Drummies held their 21st Annual Champagne Breakfast on the morning of Saturday, 20 May 2017 in the Clive Wigg Hall.  The 220 guests arrived to beautifully decorated tables with themes such as “Colours”, Christmas, Going For Gold, Emojis, Enchanted Garden and many other colourful and creative tables.

Among our guests were many old Drummies and Parents which brought back many wonderful memories of their time at Fairmont. Our guests were treated to a full English breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, muffins, breads and preserves served with tea and coffee.

The entertainment was provided by none other than our Fantastic Drummies and the guests were also the lucky winners of spot prizes.

All in all a fun-filled morning enjoyed by all who attended.
