The house that Fairmont built
Owner: Vuyokazi
Address: 5811 Ihluluwe Street, Extension 6, Mfuleni
It’s with pride that the Interact Club of Fairmont handed over a house (sponsored by the money collected from civvies day) to Vuyokazi a 32 year old resident of Mfuleni. Prior to this, “Tash“ was living with 3 other family members in a 3 x 3 m shack as a backyard dweller. “Tash“ is now the proud owner of a two-bedroom house. Fairmont Interact Club and RCL spent two days on site helping to build the house from mixing the cement, carrying building blocks for the bricklayers, plastering and bagging the walls, painting and helping to put the roof trusses up and tile the roof.
On the last day of the build a dedication and blessing ceremony was held before the handover of the house. We also handed over a Bible in which we inscribed messages of hope, inspiration and well wishes for her new home.

Pack-a-thon 2011 - Packing 22 000 meal
Team Fairmont (Interact Club, Photographic Club and Adventure Club) is very excited about being involved in the Stop Hunger Campaign. On Friday 29 July, from 14.30 – 17.00, we will be packing 22 000 meals in the Student Centre to feed hungry people. All the civvies day money collected this term contributed to make this possible. We will be joined by a team from Spar Parow (who will also be providing refreshments on the day), five other high schools in our area and a DJ from Radio Good Hope.
