Debating Society Results: Monday, 29 March 2011

Fairmont’s two debating teams have managed to win the third round of the Rotary Schools Debating Competition as well. Fairmont hosted the debates against Stellenberg and our teams convinced the adjudicators and audience with their arguments despite the rather challenging motions set for the evening.

The Junior motion was “THIS HOUSE SUPPORTS THE ELECTRONIC TAGGING OF CONVICTED PAEDOFILES”.  Our Junior Team opposed the motion and Gaby Masureik was awarded Best Speaker.

The Senior motion was “THIS HOUSE SUPPORTS THE PARTITIONING OF BELGIUM.”  Our Senior Team opposed the motion and Adriel Moodley was awarded Best Speaker for the third time in a row.
