School Closing Times 2012

In order to accommodate our athletics and cheerleading preparation for Inter-schools in February next year, without compromising teaching time, school will close one hour later on each of the following days.

School will close at 15:30 on:

• Monday 16 January
• Wednesday 18 January
• Monday 23 January
• Monday 30 January
• Wednesday 1 February
• Monday 6 February

Athletics and Cheerleading practice will also take place during the Tuesday and Thursday test periods until the first test commences on 14 February. There will be 7 academic lessons taking place each day.

Sport practices will commence after 15:30 on these days.

Matric Certificates 2010

Matric Certificates from 2010 are available at Fairmont Reception.  The person collecting the certificate needs to bring along their ID document.

Past pupils who have not collected their certificates from previous years can also collect them from the front office.

What an entertaining and glamorous show, thank you Mrs Kurt.  After weeks of intensive planning and practicing the 2011 Mr & Miss FHS proved to be another of Mrs Kurts extravagant and glamorous shows.

Fairmont Rated In Top 10 Schools In South Africa Based On Mathematics Results

It is a very proud moment for us to announce that Fairmont has been rated as one of the top 10 public schools in South Africa by being honoured by the Department of Basic Education at a gala function in Pretoria this past Monday.  This is based on our achievement in the Mathematics Matric examinations of 2009.

A special award of R150 000 was received by the school from the Anglo American Chairman’s Fund to honour our achievements.

Fairmont was selected in the top 10 from 200 schools identified by the Department of Basic Education and a panel of experts from the Anglo American Chairman’s Fund.

We at Fairmont are thrilled to be acknowledged for this achievement and we thank our Mathematics department for all their hard work over the years.

Well done Fairmont.
