A number of our students took part in the Combat Jiu-Jitsu Academy’s 9th Annual Invitational Competition for children aged 6 – 16, on Saturday 8 May and the Chief Instructor Mike sent us an email:
“This competition has grown to be the biggest Jiu-Jitsu competition for children in the country and we had over 100 entries from 5 different clubs. Of which CJA was the biggest.
There were two divisions the children could enter in:
- NO – GI Grappling
- GI Grappling
(Gi means jacket – so one division they fought with jiu-jitsu jackets on and the other without)
Gregory Lorimer – Grade 9Vz - won Gold and Bronze medals and Alexander Herbig – Grade 9Vz - came 4th.
I would like to comment on the fact that they displayed the highest degree of sportsmanship, enthusiasm and they were a credit to your school.”
