Well done to them.

The Blood Clinic

On Thursday we had another successful “Bleeding Day” at Fairmont. The Western Province Blood Clinic visited Fairmont for the quarterly clinic. We had 50 units donated. Due to illnesses or scheduled sport matches some learners unfortunately could not donate on this day. I would like to thank staff and pupils for their contribution to this worthy cause.

Alcohol And Abuse Awareness Campaign

Our Life Orientation department has been busy this past week with an alcohol and teenage drinking awareness campaign.  As part of the programme they invited two speakers from the Durbanville Quadraplegic Home who delivered moving speeches of their involvement in alcohol abuse and their present circumstances.

This had an alarming effect on many of our pupils resulting in discussions and consultations with counselors.  It is our intent and vision to enable our pupils to make informed decisions about their futures.

The School Clothing Shop

Our new School Shop near the Astro is now functional and operating at the following times:

School_Shop Shop_Times

School bags, stockings, girls’ socks, a variety of sport uniforms, hair clips, hair accessories and second hand uniform items are for sale.  From next week, blazer buttons will be available (with complimentary needle and thread).  Stationery items will soon be sold in the School Shop.  Please note, shoe polish and brushes are available in the DC Room.

If you need to know anything about the school clothing shop, please call Heidi Sparks at 021 975 2356.

PAYMENTS:

Items from the school shop can be paid for by cash, cheque or through EFT (proof of payment must please be brought with you when you receive your items from the school shop).

ON SALE:

The polar fleece tops are still on sale for only R150.00 – don’t miss out.

DONATED ITEMS NEEDED:

Please help the school shop out by donating all your unwanted school and sport uniforms, and therefore making cheaper outfits available to our students.

LOST PROPERTY:

Students must please go to Mrs Louw at the reception office if they are missing any items of clothing. Items not claimed will be donated to the school shop for sale.

HIDDEN SOCKS FOR GIRLS:

Especially for these cold winter days, the shop is selling “hidden socks” which are worn under the stockings. This is the only colour sock that may be worn at Fairmont High School. They are selling for only R15.00.
