Choir

The Choir has been invited to perform on Thursday at the Fiesta Forte Choir Festival at Bellville High School.  We wish them all of the best and know that they will make us proud.  We will be having choir auditions in the 4th term.  If any learner is interested in joining the choir, please listen for announcements regarding this.

Polar Bear Club

On Thursday last week the Matrics participated in the traditional ‘dip’ into the ‘winter water’ of the pool.  This was preceded by a march past on the field and through the quads.  The enormous range of swimming attire and plunges into the pool provided much fun for participants and spectators.  A hot dog and hot chocolate rounded off festivities.  Thank you to all for making this fun activity possible.

Academic Honours Dinner

Last Tuesday we celebrated the efforts of our top academic achievers at the Academic Honours Dinner.  We congratulate these pupils and hope, as we do for all our pupils, that they go forward in their career paths to achieve the very best that they are capable of achieving.

Janine Hoskin – Senior Prefect

At this time each year the prefect body reflects on their contributions as prefects to the school and review the individual input of their peers and duties to the school.  Diligence, hard work, consistency are considered and the prefect body votes for a prefect member (excluding the prefect executive) who has best carried out their duties.  While the prefect body this year has done a great job, they feel that Janine Hoskin is worthy of this prestigious acknowledgement.  Well done Janine.

Fairmont’s International Award

We were privileged to have Mr Graham Harmsworth, President of the Rotary Club of Durbanville and Mrs Pam Alborough of the Rotary Club visiting our assembly last Friday to present our Interact Club of Fairmont with an International Certificate of recognition for their outstanding service to the community.  Congratulations to them.  The photograph below shows Amy Glover receiving the award on behalf of the Fairmont Interact Society.
